2016/4/22-24  I participated in 2016 Fishackathon In Taipei 

Why hold the contest on 4/22?

Because the contest's core concept is consistect with Earth Day !!!!

Starting 3-day-coding contest with my lovely colleague, althought I have no experience of hackathon

Choose one team from each city, which have chance to go to THE U.S.A for final !!!!! Soooo envy!!!

Then, this blog is written for sharing experience, not for something difficult

Location:  SYNTREND 11F (Near Zhongxiao Dunhua Station & Guang Hua Computer Market).

Everything is awsome in the venues.(ex: comfortable environment, creative poster (BELOW!)!!)

We are No.2! Our seat is near the entrance.

Topics of conteat roughly  divided into the followings :

1.Fish identification

2.Lost fishing gear

3. Internet access to commercial fishing permit and vessel data

4. Compliance with marine applicable fishing laws, regulations, and decrees covering regions

After discussion with team member,,,

In view of stranded fishing boat which cause  grave ecological system problems, we wanted to prevent it happened again. (Click photo for News!)

We found that IBM Research Launches Project Green horizon in 2014. (Click photo for News!)

We come up our project title with ... Blue Horizon !!!!

Our team decided to focus on 4-th topic (Compliance with marine applicable fishing laws, regulations, and decrees covering regions)!

We wanted to realize a early-warning system by integrating big data and IT tech.

The main idea is to warn fishing boats which may enter the danger area and have the risk of stranded.

Our whole framework below:

Using IBM Analytics for predicting the danger area.(Because the data is not available, famework is a concept!)

Using geospatial+Iot fundation for realizing the framework.

BUT!!!! The terrible things happened!

We found out that this kind of technology already exist !!!!

SOOO 

We changed the topic immediately by using LoRa for Topic 2(Lost fishing gear)

But there is no time for rewriting new ppt, so we lost the chance to enter the semi-final & present our project .

So I present in hereeeee!!! (you are my audience!) HAHA

I benefited a lot from this hackathaon. (Knowing lots of people, delicious breakfast lunch pizza instant noodles)

This is my first time to hackathon !! An exciting, stimulating coding contest!
